ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM
March 15-16, 2013
8:30am - 4:30pm
Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The two-day course is based on the acclaimed Burroughs Wellcome Fund/Howard Hughes Medical Institute course in scientific management http://www.hhmi.org/resources/labmanagement/ and similar intensive programs developed across the country. The course is designed to equip postdocs and junior faculty in the biomedical, physical, and life sciences from the South Florida institutes with the professional competencies to lead innovative and productive research programs.
The 2013 South Florida Academic Leadership Symposium will mark the first time the program is offered. We are pleased to report that the previous courses held in San Diego (with Scripps, Salk, UCSD, and Sanford-Burnham) were met with enthusiasm and near universal praise from the participants.
